PE Pipe Selection
Vinidex PE pipes are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 4130 – Polyethylene (PE) pipes for pressure applications and are available in a comprehensive range of pressure classes and sizes up to 1200mm diameter.
Additional sizes and pressure classes to AS/NZS 4130 requirements are added from time to time and subject to minimum quantity requirements, pipes made to specific sizes, lengths or pressure classes are available.

The Standard AS/NZS 4130 includes of PE material designations based on the Minimum Required Stress (MRS), and classified as PE80, and PE100. When pipes are made to the same dimensions, but from different rated PE materials, then the pipes will have different pressure ratings. The relationship between the dimensions of the pipes, the PE material classification and the working pressure rating are as shown in the Table below. For simplicity, the dimensions of the pipe have been referred in terms of the Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR) where: SDR = Outside Diameter/ Wall Thickness.

Notes:
PN Is the nominal working pressure rating. The number used to describe PN is 10 times the value of the maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) at 20°C (MPa x10) based on a design factor of 1.25.
SDR Nominal ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness.
