Standards for DWV pipes and fittings

Vinidex DWV pipes and fittings are manufactured and tested in accordance with AS/NZS 1260 – PVC-U pipes and fittings for drain, waste and vent applications.

Standards for rubber rings and solvent cement

Rubber rings for jointing DWV pipes are manufactured in accordance with AS 1646 – Elastomeric seals for waterworks purposes. Assembled rubber ring joints are also subjected to a range of tests to verify the joint design and long-term performance.

Priming fluid and solvent cements supplied by Vinidex comply with AS/NZS 3879 – Solvent cements and priming fluids for PVC (PVC-U and PVC-M) and ABS and ASA pipes and fittings.

Contact with drinking water

Vinidex DWV PVC-U pipes comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 4020 – Testing of products for use in contact with drinking water. This Standard specifies a series of type tests, which are carried out in order to demonstrate that the product does not have a detrimental effect on the quality of drinking water. It assesses the effect of the pipe on the taste, odour and appearance of water as well as the health aspects due to growth of microorganisms and leaching of toxic substances.
