Project background

Select Harvests Limited is Australia’s largest vertically integrated nut and health food company. Located in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales, Select Harvests includes more than 4,000 hectares of company-owned, leased and joint-venture almond orchards.

The challenge

Select Harvests looked to develop a 1400-acre almond plantation at Mendook Farm, Euston NSW. But with the land previously used for dry-land cereal cropping, it was crucial to establish a comprehensive irrigation system for the distribution of water around the plantation.

Additional project considerations included the property’s remote location, as well as tight delivery timeframes to align with construction and crop-planting schedules.

The solution

Working with local contractor North West Irrigation, Vinidex supplied over 150kms of Hydro® PVC-M Large Bore Pipes for the project. Vinidex Hydro® PVC-M pipes were the ideal solution for Mendook Farm, providing excellent material performance and hydraulic efficiency for the transportation and distribution of water around the plantation.

Vinidex Hydro® PVC-M pipes are lightweight, enabling quick, easy and safe transportation and installation. Additionally, they have full system compatibility to suit the range of customised valves and fittings used on the project.
