Project background

Kerrford Park is a residential estate in the suburb of Thurgoona, Albury in NSW. Project contractor Nordcon, in conjunction with Albury City Council, aimed to demonstrate the benefits of Vinidex StormPRO® as an ideal alternative to traditional materials under roads.

The challenge

Traditional pipe alternatives are still commonly used for stormwater drainage, despite their known challenges. Nordcon required a suitable location to demonstrate the benefits of StormPRO® Polyproylene stormwater drainage pipe systems and showcase it as the ideal solution for use under roads.

The solution

The long life, ease of installation and sustainability of the plastic pipe system made Vinidex StormPRO® the ideal product for installation at Kerrford Park Estate. In May 2019, Albury City Council approved Nordcon and Vinidex, through Reece, to proceed with the installation of StormPRO® Polyproylene stormwater drainage pipe systems at stages 3 & 4 of the Kerrford Park Estate project.

The installation was successful, but due to the pandemic, the team was unable to do an evaluation until February 2022. A local independent CCTV company was engaged to do the assessment of the under-road lines – and the results were very pleasing. In most cases, the system looked the same as the day it was installed. This highlighted that StormPRO® is fit for purpose under roads, as the ideal and premium choice for stormwater drainage.
