Project background
Brisbane Casino Towers is a 30-storey, 378-apartment building in the heart of Brisbane’s cultural precinct. As part of the development, a new performance-based, cost-effective waste system was required.
The challenge
Multiplex Group was seeking a cost-effective, high-performing stack solution to meet the demands of 378 apartments with mixed waste materials and temperatures. Proven durability, temperature and chemical resistance were all essential.
The solution
The builder chose an Akatherm HDPE RVASS solution from Vinidex for the building’s waste stacks.
Reduced Velocity Aerator Stack Systems (RVASS) have been employed in medium and high-rise developments globally for many years. As a fully engineered design, RVASS is a proven high-performing, cost-effective solution, particularly when used in developments of eight storeys and greater.
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) is an extremely durable material with excellent temperature and chemical resistance. It was ideal for this project, particularly when the various apartments across the 30 storeys drain into the same stack. For additional peace of mind, Akatherm not only reviews and approves the engineered solution prior to project commencement, the team also provides on-site training and technical support throughout the project.
