Project background
With a focus on comfort and quality, this exceptional multi-residential development of 35 luxury two and three-bedroom apartments set new standards of living in Paradise Point, QLD in 2022. On Point were contracted to install plumbing and drainage systems that met both the developer’s exacting standards and all building regulations.
The challenge
A sophisticated drain, waste and vent system (DWV) was needed to complement the array of high-quality fixtures, fittings and finishes featured throughout the project while reducing noise transfer between homes.
With a fixed completion date, the DWV system had to be installed quickly and efficiently so as not to delay project timelines.
The solution
Speedy but silent, the Vinidex Akatherm dBlue Soil & Waste drainage system was the ideal solution for this high-end residential project.
The multi-layered, high-performance plumbing system is designed to suit the needs of modern building – and living. Featuring the latest co-extrusion technology, the triple-layer structure of the pipes effectively reduces water-flow noise to meet the acoustic performance requirements set by the National Construction Code (NCC).
Another draw for On Point was the lightweight rubber ring push-fit system, which eliminates the need for lagging. This allows installation to occur earlier on in the construction process and to be completed up to six times faster than traditional lagged PVC systems – making it an ideal choice given the project’s tight construction schedule.
To speed up the installation process even further, Vinidex prefabricated special-order shower waste gully traps in conjunction with On Point and provided on-site technical assistance to keep the project running smoothly.
